Music Production
Everyone has their own unique DNA made up of musical influences from throughout their lifetime. My dream is to get steadily better at crystallizing my own hopelessly and gloriously jumbled musical brainprint onto tape.
New music in the works
I’ve got a bunch of partially finished tracks from the last few years that I like. Just have to get them all the way to finished and put ‘em up. I’m working on it, okay?!?
Here’s one song that’s not quite finished but on its way…
Meanwhile below is some older but gooder stuff…
fatslice
Musical collaboration from around 2001-era Los Angeles together with friend and longtime creative collaborator David “DJDave” Wittman, as well as a roster of talented band-members that included a young Kamasi Washington, who has subsequently gained appropriate recognition for his musical and creative brilliance (you can hear him on “Original Raw” on this album.)
At the time I was also a small-time member of the music DJ rotation on renowned music “tastemaker” radio station KCRW where various tracks from the album made it into the favorite rotation of some of the main DJs at the station and into the broader LA music scene. Our regular performances took place during the glorious heyday of the Temple Bar in Santa Monica, as well as performances at The House of Blues on the Sunset Strip and The Knitting Factory. Amazing to think back on it. When you’re in your 20’s it just seems like that kind of thing is supposed to happen, right?
I still love this album, was pretty cutting edge at the time, and immediately brings me back to a unique musical and creative era.

In My Life (original song)
Wrote this around 2010, but wasn’t happy with my attempts to record it until I finally recorded this video in 2017. But then lost my nerve and dropped it. Then dug it up and added the intro monologue in 2019, then lost my nerve and buried it again. Then finally put it up in 2021.
That should give you an idea of my level of comfort singing in front of people. 😬 But now it’s up!
